Welcome to the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program for Vision and Learning in Humans and Machines at the University of California, San Diego.

This premier graduate traineeship program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation for the purpose of educating and training Ph.D. students in engineering and the sciences with a strong interdisciplinary background.   Our program in particular specifically focuses on the areas of human vision, computer vision, human learning, and machine learning.

We currently have seventeen trainees and over 20 faculty affiliated with the program, representing numerous academic departments and research institutes, both on and off campus.

As an IGERT trainee, one can expect a rigorous and comprehensive research and educational experience.   Through the leadership of our faculty, and structured events and activities, the program provides the additional academic experience and expertise necessary to ensure success as a future scholar.

We encourage you to tour our web site, where you will find information about the program, current program participants, and the application process and deadlines.
