Hey! So, music is an important part of me, both listening and playing. I've played clarinet for many years, and in fact I'm always looking for folks to play with. (If you are looking for a clarinetist, please email me!:) ) My repertoire is all, let's call it "western art music", including chamber and solo works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Bruch, Mendelssohn, Copeland, Hindemeth, Khachaturian, Bartok, Stravinsky, Corigliano, Lutoslawski and more. I'm definitely partial to the 20th century rep, I looove things that make you go insane. I'd really love to learn to improv on the clarinet, the few time's I've gotten together to jam it was wonderful, but up to now I've focused on a good sound, good technique, and a good musical sense. In theory that would make the jump to wacky stuff a lot easier, we'll see....

For those interested, I used to study with Richard MacDowell at the University of Texas at Austin, and participated extensively in the music program there. I consider it a great honor to have been part of the UT Wind Ensemble (under Jerry F. Junkin) for many years, a group whose dedication, uniqueness, and musical sensitivity paid off in a 1998 trip to Carnegie Hall.

Let me know if you're interested in getting a CD of that concert.
