Welcome to SCANS (COGS 91), Spring 2003

 

Purposes of the course:
-- introduce a variety of areas of basic and applied research in cognitive science, to
-- facilitate creative thinking about questions of science and needs of society.

We meet Wednesdays, 5 - 5:50 pm, at Cog Sci Bldg rm 003.

Course requirements: attend 9 of 10 class meetings, and complete a small project. (Details to be discussed in class.) Grading is P/NP; the course is one unit.

If you miss more than one class meeting, you may make-up one absence by either emailing the instructor your notes from any other talk, or participating in an experimental study and emailing the instructor a summary of the research questions and nature of the study. The deadline for getting this done is Friday of 10th week.
